Instrument and tuning selection. Switch between 6-string guitar and 4-, 5-, or 6-string bass. Choose from seven guitar tunings — Standard, Drop D, Half-step Down, Full-step Down, Open G, Open D, and DADGAD — and four bass tunings including 5-string. The fretboard recalculates immediately when you change either setting.
Scales, modes, triads, and chords. Browse more than 30 patterns across four categories. Scales include major, natural minor, harmonic minor, melodic minor, pentatonic, blues, whole tone, and diminished variants. All seven diatonic modes are available individually. Triads cover major, minor, augmented, diminished, sus2, and sus4. Seventh chords include major 7, dominant 7, minor 7, half-diminished, and more.
Interval highlighting and the theory panel. The Highlight control lets you mark specific intervals within any pattern — useful for isolating chord tones inside a scale or visualizing CAGED and three-notes-per-string (3NPS) position shapes. Below the fretboard, the theory panel shows the pattern's character, its brightness relative to major, circle-of-fifths position, related modes, and three guided practice exercises.
